Dr. B Vishwanath Tantry

Dr. B V Tantry is a Senior Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist from Mangalore city of Karnataka. He is a veteran Medical Practitioner with more than 30 years of vast experience in treatment of ailments related to the Gastrointestinal tract. His special interest lies in treating patients with Liver and inflammatory bowel diseases.

He accomplished MBBS, MD and DM (Gastro) from the prestigious Banaras Hindu University which is one of the oldest and largest medical educational institutes of the country.

Dr. Tantry is Head of Department of Gastroenterology in KMC Hospital, which is amongst the leading hospitals in Mangalore. He joined KMC Hospital in the year 2000 and has been the Head of Department of Gastroenterology since then. He also heads the DNB course in Gastroenterology at KMC.

Previously he worked as an In-charge of Gastroenterology in Kasturba Medical College, Manipal for approximately 5 years, post which he worked as Consultant Gastroenterologist in Abu Dhabi for 9 years.

Dr. Tantry has contributed to various leading publications in the field of Gastroenterology. Due to his immense expertise and unmatched skills in the fields of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, he was appointed and served as the President of the Karnataka Chapter of Indian Society of Gastroenterology and DK Chapter of Association of Physicians. He is the Life Member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology since 1985 and a Member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
